Frame Restoration Project

I was given the opportunity to experiment and explore restoration techniques on a damaged gilt wood frame. This opportunity was very illuminating as I developed my amateur skills as a 3D object restorer. I utilized modeling clay, modeling tools, craft glue, and gold paint to build up and paint over lost areas of the ornate decoration of the frame. There were also various areas of the frame that had been previously restored, and I had the challenge of deciding whether or not to keep these restored elements. Overall, I was extremely happy to be given this project to practice and experiment with various techniques of restorative sculpting, and am eager to have more opportunities to further cultivate this art.
